🇿🇦South Africa🇦🇴AngolaZA-AO South Africa to Angola visa requirements
South African ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for short tourist visits to Angola. Under a reciprocal bilateral visa-waiver agreement in force since 1 December 2017, you may enter visa-free for up to 30 days per visit, capped at 90 days total within any calendar year. Angola and South Africa operate a mutual visa-waiver agreement that took effect on 1 December 2017. South African ordinary passport holders can enter Angola for tourism or short visits without any visa, eVisa, or visa-on-arrival. Each individual stay may not exceed 30 days, and the cumulative total is limited to 90 days per calendar year (some sources cap entries at three visa-free entries per year). The waiver covers tourism, business meetings, and family/social visits only; it does not authorise paid work, study, residence, or self-employment, which still require the appropriate Angolan visa obtained in advance. At the border, travellers must present a passport valid for at least 6 months with sufficient blank pages, and may be asked for proof of onward travel, accommodation, and sufficient funds. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required for entry to Angola. This is a genuine no-visa channel confirmed by both Angola's visa policy and South Africa's Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) / VFS exemption list, so no application or fee is involved for a qualifying short tourist trip.
