Vietnam to Oman visa requirements
Vietnamese ordinary passport holders need a visa for Oman. There is no unconditional visa-free or open eVisa channel for Vietnam; both the 14-day exemption and the unsponsored eVisa are only available IF you already hold a valid visa or residence permit from the US, UK, Schengen, Canada, Australia, or Japan (or GCC residence). Without one of those, you must obtain a sponsored visit visa before travel. Oman is not a Schengen state. Under Oman's visa policy (Royal Oman Police / Ministry of Foreign Affairs), nationalities are split into two groups. Vietnam falls in the conditional "Second Group." A Vietnamese citizen can only enter visa-free for up to 14 days, or apply for the unsponsored tourist eVisa, on the condition that they hold a currently valid entry visa or residence permit from the United States, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, a Schengen Agreement country, or Japan, or hold residency in a GCC country (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain). A Vietnamese tourist who does NOT hold one of these qualifying third-country documents is NOT eligible for the unsponsored eVisa or the exemption and must instead obtain a sponsored visit visa (typically arranged through an Omani sponsor, hotel, or licensed tour operator) before travel. Because no open no-visa channel exists for an ordinary Vietnamese passport on its own, the conservative and correct verdict is visa-required. The conditional unsponsored eVisa, when eligible, is issued online via the ROP portal: a 10-day single entry costs 5 OMR, a 30-day single entry 20 OMR, and a 1-year multiple entry (30 days per stay) 50 OMR. All visitors need a passport valid 6+ months, a return ticket, confirmed accommodation, travel/health insurance, and proof of sufficient funds.
