United States to Zimbabwe visa requirements

US passport holders need a visa for Zimbabwe. The recommended route is the official eVisa at evisa.gov.zw (single-entry USD $30, 30 days). Visa on arrival is also available at airports and major land borders for US citizens (a Category B nationality). A United States ordinary passport holder cannot enter Zimbabwe visa-free for tourism. The USA is classified as a Category B country, meaning US travelers can obtain a tourist visa either online in advance through the official eVisa portal (evisa.gov.zw) or as a visa on arrival at international airports (Harare, Victoria Falls, Bulawayo) and major land borders. The single-entry tourist visa costs USD $30 and is valid for a 30-day stay. A double-entry visa (USD $45-$70) and a 12-month multiple-entry visa (USD $55-$160) are also available, as is the KAZA Univisa (USD $50) covering Zimbabwe and Zambia. Although visa on arrival is offered, applying for the eVisa beforehand is recommended to speed up border processing and avoid potential delays. The passport must be valid for at least 6 months and have a minimum of 2 blank pages. Zimbabwe is not in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. Note: as a separate matter, in January 2026 the US suspended issuance of visas to Zimbabwean nationals, but this does not affect a US citizen's ability to visit Zimbabwe.
