United States to Kuwait visa requirements

US ordinary passport holders can get a visa on arrival at any Kuwaiti air port of entry for a short tourist visit. No advance visa is required when arriving by air; the visa is issued at the airport for a stay of up to 3 months. As of mid-2026, United States ordinary passport holders do NOT need to arrange a visa before flying to Kuwait. The United States is on Kuwait's visa-on-arrival list (one of roughly 53 eligible countries/territories), so a tourist visa is stamped at all Kuwaiti air ports of entry. The U.S. State Department reports the on-arrival visa fee for U.S. citizens at 10 Kuwaiti Dinars, allowing a stay of up to three months. To qualify, travelers need a passport valid for at least six months beyond arrival, an onward/return ticket, and an address of stay in Kuwait. Kuwait also operates an eVisa portal (kuwaitvisa.moi.gov.kw), but that channel is primarily designed for nationalities that must hold a valid U.S., Schengen, or UK visa/residence permit; U.S. citizens are better served by the direct visa-on-arrival channel. Note two practical points: visa on arrival is available only when arriving BY AIR (arrivals by land or sea must obtain a visa in advance), and the U.S. Embassy in Kuwait suspended routine consular operations in 2026, so U.S. travelers should rely on the State Department country page and the Kuwaiti immigration authority for updates. Sources occasionally conflict on fee figures (some older or third-party pages cite USD 150/175 or eVisa fees around USD 105); the State Department figure for U.S. citizens is the most authoritative for the on-arrival channel.
