🇺🇸United States🇧🇼BotswanaUS-BW United States to Botswana visa requirements
No visa needed. US ordinary passport holders can enter Botswana visa-free for tourism and stay up to 90 days within a 365-day period. United States ordinary passport holders do not need a visa to visit Botswana for tourism or short business trips. They are admitted visa-free for a cumulative stay of up to 90 days within any 365-day (12-month) period. The exact length granted is set by the immigration officer at the port of entry and is recorded on the entry stamp, so it may be shorter than 90 days. To be admitted you must hold a passport valid for at least six months with at least one blank page, and you should be able to show proof of onward or return travel and sufficient funds. There is no eVisa or visa-on-arrival requirement for ordinary US passport holders for short tourist visits; Botswana's eVisa system applies to nationalities that are not on the visa-exempt list. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is only required if you arrive from, or have transited, a country with risk of yellow fever transmission - it is not required for direct travel from the United States. Note that this visa-free privilege applies to ordinary passports presented in person at entry; travelers using a temporary or emergency passport must obtain a visa in advance, as visas cannot be issued on arrival.
