Do Taiwan passport holders need a visa to visit Türkiye?
Taiwan ordinary passport holders need an e-Visa to visit Türkiye, but it is FREE of charge under the 2016 reciprocal agreement. Apply online at evisa.gov.tr before you travel. Holders of an ordinary Taiwan (ROC) passport are NOT visa-free for Türkiye. They must obtain an electronic visa (e-Visa) online through the official portal www.evisa.gov.tr before departure. Türkiye's Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms that ordinary passport holders may obtain e-Visas valid for tourism/short stays provided they meet the conditions (a passport valid at least six months beyond arrival, onward/return ticket, hotel reservation, and sufficient funds). Crucially, under the reciprocal arrangement that took effect on 10 February 2016, the Türkiye e-Visa is issued FREE OF CHARGE to Taiwan passport holders — no government visa fee is collected. The e-Visa permits a stay of up to 30 days and is valid for 180 days from the issue date. The official MFA wording describes a single-entry e-Visa valid for one month; some commercial intermediaries advertise multiple-entry, but travelers should rely on the conditions shown when applying on the official site. Visa-on-arrival is not available to Taiwan passport holders; the e-Visa must be secured online beforehand. Always apply through the official evisa.gov.tr site to avoid third-party service fees.
