Do Taiwan passport holders need a visa to visit Thailand?
Taiwan ordinary passport holders can visit Thailand visa-free for up to 60 days per entry for tourism. No visa or fee is needed, but you must complete the free online Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) within 72 hours before arrival. As of 30 May 2026, holders of an ordinary Taiwan (Republic of China) passport enjoy visa-free entry to Thailand for tourism and short visits, with a permitted stay of up to 60 days on each entry. Taiwan is one of the 93 countries and territories on Thailand's visa-exemption list. The 60-day stay can be extended once at a Thai immigration office for an additional 30 days (1,900 THB fee), allowing a maximum of roughly 90 days without applying for a formal visa. No visa, no application, and no embassy visit are required before travel. The only mandatory pre-arrival step is the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC), a free online form on the official Thailand Immigration Bureau portal that replaced the paper TM6 card on 1 May 2025; every non-Thai traveller must submit it within 72 hours before arrival. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months. Immigration officers may ask to see proof of onward travel and sufficient funds (about 10,000 THB per person / 20,000 THB per family). Beware of third-party websites charging fees for the TDAC: the official card is always free.
