🇹🇼Taiwan (Chinese Taipei)🇸🇰SlovakiaTW-SK Taiwan (Chinese Taipei) to Slovakia visa requirements
Taiwanese ordinary passport holders can visit Slovakia visa-free for up to 90 days within any 180-day period. Slovakia is in the Schengen Area, and Taiwan (ROC) is on the EU's visa-exemption list, provided the passport contains the holder's national ID number. Slovakia is a full member of the Schengen Area, and holders of Taiwan (Republic of China) ordinary passports enjoy visa-free entry to the entire Schengen zone for short stays. No visa is required for tourism, family visits or business (no paid work) for stays of up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period. The visa exemption applies only to ordinary Taiwanese passports that display the holder's national identity card (ID) number on the personal-data page; passports without the ID number do not qualify. The passport should have been issued within the previous 10 years and remain valid for at least 3 months beyond the planned departure date from the Schengen area. As of 2026-06-01, the EU's ETIAS travel authorisation is NOT yet operational; its launch is expected in late 2026 (currently projected around Q4 2026). Once ETIAS goes live, Taiwanese travelers will need to obtain an approved ETIAS authorisation online before departure, but it is not a visa and is not required today. Border officers retain final discretion to admit travelers and may ask for proof of onward/return tickets, accommodation, sufficient funds, and travel medical insurance. The 90/180 limit is counted cumulatively across all Schengen countries combined, not per country.
