Taiwan (Chinese Taipei) to Panama visa requirements

Taiwan ordinary passport holders can travel to Panama visa-free for tourism and stay up to 90 days. No visa or pre-arrival authorization is required for short visits. As of mid-2026, holders of an ordinary Republic of China (Taiwan) passport do NOT need a visa to enter Panama as tourists. Taiwan is on Panama's nationality-based visa-exempt list, which allows a stay of up to 90 days per entry (Panama's general tourist limit set by Resolution 22068 of 2021 is 3 months; only US and Canadian citizens get 180 days for reciprocity). Travelers are simply admitted at the port of entry after immigration checks. This is a direct nationality-based exemption and should not be confused with Panama's Executive Decree No. 196 of 28 October 2024, which is a separate program waiving the visa requirement for certain visa-needing nationalities who already hold a valid US, Canadian, Australian, South Korean, Japanese, UK, Singapore or EU visa. At entry, Taiwan visitors should be ready to show a passport valid for at least 3-6 months, an onward or return ticket, proof of accommodation, and evidence of economic solvency (around US$500). Panama is in the Americas and is not part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. The 90-day tourist stay can be extended once for an additional period through the National Migration Service for a small fee. Because visa policies can change, confirm with the airline (IATA Timatic) or Panama's National Migration Service shortly before departure.
