Taiwan (Chinese Taipei) to Norway visa requirements

No visa is required. Taiwan ordinary passport holders can enter Norway (a Schengen country) visa-free for tourism for up to 90 days within any 180-day period, provided the passport contains the holder's national identity card number. Norway is part of the Schengen Area, and Taiwan ordinary passport holders have enjoyed visa-free access to the Schengen states since 11 January 2011. For short tourist visits you may stay up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period across the whole Schengen Area combined (not 90 days per country). The single mandatory condition is that your Taiwan passport must contain your national identity card number; passports without the ID number are not eligible for the visa waiver. Your passport should also be valid for at least three months beyond your planned departure from the Schengen Area and issued within the last 10 years. No advance application is needed today. From late 2026 (Q4 2026, with a transitional grace period running into 2027), visa-exempt travelers including Taiwanese citizens will need to obtain an ETIAS travel authorization online before departure; until ETIAS is officially launched and made mandatory, no action is required. Border officers may still ask for proof of onward/return travel, accommodation, and sufficient funds. Employment is not permitted under the visa waiver.
