🇹🇼Taiwan (Chinese Taipei)🇲🇷MauritaniaTW-MR Taiwan (Chinese Taipei) to Mauritania visa requirements
Taiwan ordinary passport holders need a visa for Mauritania. Since 5 January 2025, Mauritania requires a pre-arrival eVisa applied for online through the official ANRPTS portal before boarding. Taiwan (TWN) is listed as eligible on the portal. A Taiwan (TW) ordinary passport holder is NOT visa-exempt for Mauritania and must obtain a visa for a short tourist visit. Mauritania launched a mandatory electronic visa (eVisa) system effective 5 January 2025: all visa-required nationals must apply online through the National Agency for the Population Register and Secure Titles (ANRPTS) at anrpts.gov.mr and obtain approval before boarding their flight. Taiwan (listed as "Taiwan - TWN") is selectable on the official ANRPTS application form, confirming eligibility. The standard tourist eVisa is single-entry, valid for 30 days of stay (longer 90/360-day options also exist), and costs approximately EUR 55 / USD 60. A distinctive feature of the Mauritanian system is that the visa fee is paid in cash (exact EUR or USD, no change given) on arrival at the airport, even though the eVisa approval itself is obtained online beforehand. While a visa-on-arrival counter has historically operated at Nouakchott-Oumtounsy International Airport, the official policy since 2025 directs travelers to secure the eVisa before travel, and embassies no longer issue visas. Because airlines may deny boarding without a pre-approved eVisa, the eVisa is the correct and safe channel. A passport valid at least six months with a blank page, a digital photo, proof of sufficient funds, and a yellow fever vaccination certificate are required. Default conservative guidance: apply for the eVisa online well before departure.
