🇹🇼Taiwan (Chinese Taipei)🇱🇺LuxembourgTW-LU Taiwan (Chinese Taipei) to Luxembourg visa requirements
No visa needed. Taiwan ordinary passport holders (with a National ID number) may visit Luxembourg and the rest of the Schengen Area visa-free for up to 90 days in any 180-day period for tourism or business. Luxembourg is a member of the Schengen Area, and Taiwanese citizens holding an ordinary passport that shows their National ID number have been visa-exempt for short stays in the EU/Schengen zone since 11 January 2011. This allows tourism, family visits, and business (no paid employment) for a maximum of 90 days within any rolling 180-day period, counted across all Schengen states combined, not per country. The passport must be valid for at least three months beyond the planned date of departure from the Schengen Area and have been issued within the previous 10 years. Border officers may still ask for proof of onward/return travel, sufficient funds, accommodation, and travel insurance, and can refuse entry if conditions are not met. The main upcoming change is ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorisation System), a pre-travel authorisation scheduled to launch in the last quarter of 2026 with a six-month transitional grace period afterward, costing EUR 20 (free for applicants under 18 or over 70). ETIAS is not a visa; it is an online screening tied to the passport, valid up to three years or until the passport expires. As of 1 June 2026 ETIAS is not yet operational, so no application is required for travel today. For stays over 90 days, study, or work, a Luxembourg national (long-stay) visa is required instead.
