Taiwan (Chinese Taipei) to Croatia visa requirements

Taiwan ordinary passport holders can visit Croatia visa-free for tourism for up to 90 days in any 180-day period. Croatia is a full Schengen member (since 1 January 2023), so the Schengen 90/180 rule applies. No visa is needed now; from Q4 2026 a EUR 20 ETIAS travel authorisation will be required before travel. Croatia joined the Schengen Area on 1 January 2023, so Taiwan's existing Schengen visa-waiver covers it. Holders of an ordinary Taiwan (Republic of China) passport that contains the holder's national ID card number may enter Croatia and the rest of the Schengen Area without a visa for short stays of up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period, for tourism, business, family visits or transit. The passport must have been issued within the previous 10 years and remain valid for at least 3 months beyond the planned date of departure from Schengen. Time spent in any Schengen country counts toward the single shared 90/180 allowance. Two new EU border systems affect this route: the Entry/Exit System (EES), a biometric registration at the border, began rolling out from 10 April 2026; and ETIAS, an online pre-travel authorisation, is scheduled to become mandatory in the last quarter of 2026. ETIAS is not a visa; it costs EUR 20 (free for applicants under 18 or over 70), is valid for up to 3 years or until the passport expires, and permits the same 90/180 short stays. Until ETIAS goes live, eligible Taiwan travellers need nothing beyond a qualifying passport, proof of onward/return travel, accommodation and sufficient funds. Overstaying the 90 days requires a national long-stay visa or residence permit and can trigger entry bans.
