🇹🇼Taiwan (Chinese Taipei)🇩🇰DenmarkTW-DK Taiwan (Chinese Taipei) to Denmark visa requirements
Taiwan ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for short tourist stays in Denmark. Denmark is in the Schengen Area, so you may stay up to 90 days within any 180-day period visa-free, provided your passport contains your Taiwan national ID number. Denmark is a member of the Schengen Area, and Taiwan is on the EU's visa-exemption list for short stays. A Taiwan ordinary passport holder can therefore enter Denmark for tourism, business, or family visits without a visa for up to 90 days in any rolling 180-day period, with no employment permitted. The single most important condition, confirmed by the Danish representation in Taipei, is that the passport MUST contain the holder's Taiwan national identity card number; passports without it are not eligible for visa-free entry. The passport must be issued within the last 10 years and remain valid for at least 3 months beyond the planned departure date from the Schengen area. The 90/180 rule counts days across the entire Schengen Area, not just Denmark. Visa-free does not guarantee entry: border officers may ask for proof of onward/return travel, sufficient funds, and accommodation. Looking ahead, ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorisation System) is expected to launch in the last quarter of 2026, after which visa-exempt travellers including Taiwanese will need an approved ETIAS authorisation (EUR 20, valid up to 3 years) before travel; a transitional grace period is planned. As of 2026-06-01 ETIAS is not yet in force, so no online authorisation is currently required.
