Taiwan (Chinese Taipei) to Congo (Dem. Rep.) visa requirements

Taiwan ordinary passport holders need a visa for the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The DRC launched an electronic visa (eVisa) system at evisa.gouv.cd in 2025, so most short-stay tourists now apply online before travel rather than at an embassy. There is no visa-free or genuine visa-on-arrival channel for Taiwanese citizens. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory for entry. As of 2026, a Taiwan (Republic of China) ordinary passport holder traveling to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC / Congo-Kinshasa) for tourism requires a visa. The DRC is not part of any visa-waiver arrangement with Taiwan, and Taiwan is not on the short DRC visa-exempt list (which covers only a handful of African neighbors such as Burundi, Republic of Congo, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Zimbabwe). In 2025 the DRC's Direction Générale de Migration (DGM) rolled out an official electronic visa portal at evisa.gouv.cd, replacing the previous embassy-only process for many travelers. The short-stay tourist eVisa (sometimes marketed as the 'flying visa') typically permits a stay of up to 7 days, is valid for entry within 90 days of issue, and is most commonly issued for single entry. The official government visa fee is around USD 300, with an additional mandatory VAP border/entry fee of about USD 90 collected on arrival. Travelers should apply well in advance, carry proof of accommodation, return travel, and sufficient funds, and must hold a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate. Because conditions in the DRC and its consular procedures change frequently and some routings still require an embassy-issued visa, travelers should confirm the current process directly with the official eVisa portal or the nearest DRC diplomatic mission before booking. Note: Taiwan has no DRC embassy, so applicants generally use the online eVisa or a DRC mission in a third country.
