Taiwan (Chinese Taipei) to Argentina visa requirements

Taiwan ordinary passport holders are NOT visa-free for Argentina. The practical option for tourism is the AVE (Autorizacion de Viaje Electronica), an electronic travel authorization for Taiwan nationals who hold a valid US visa (B2/B1/J/O/P/E/H-1B) or a valid US ESTA. The AVE costs about US$50, is multiple-entry, valid 90 days, and allows a 3-month stay (extendable once). Travelers without a qualifying US visa/ESTA must instead apply for a consular tourist visa at the Argentine Commercial and Cultural Office in Taipei. A Taiwan (ROC) ordinary passport holder needs prior authorization to enter Argentina for tourism; Argentina does not grant Taiwan visa-free or visa-on-arrival access. The streamlined route is the AVE electronic travel authorization, which Argentina makes available to Taiwan nationals who already hold a valid US nonimmigrant visa (B2, B1, J, O, P1-P3, E or H-1B) or a valid US ESTA. The AVE is applied for online through Argentina's National Migration Directorate (migraciones.gov.ar), costs roughly US$50, and on approval grants multiple entries, a 90-day document validity and a stay of up to 3 months that can be extended once for a further 3 months in-country. Argentine immigration responds by email, typically within about 20 business days, so travelers should apply well in advance. Green-card holders cannot use the US-permit channel. Taiwan travelers who do NOT hold a qualifying US visa or ESTA cannot use the AVE and must apply for a traditional sticker tourist visa at the Argentine Commercial and Cultural Office (OCCAT) in Taipei. Argentina is in South America and is not part of the Schengen area, so no Schengen 90/180 rule or ETIAS applies. Passports should have at least 6 months' validity.
