Do Türkiye passport holders need a visa to visit Taiwan?
Turkish ordinary passport holders need a Taiwan eVisa for tourism — it is free of charge under the Taiwan-Türkiye reciprocal agreement, single-entry, and allows a stay of up to 30 days. A Türkiye ordinary passport holder cannot enter Taiwan visa-free. Turkish nationals are on Taiwan's eVisa-eligible list (ordinary and special passports only) and must obtain a single-entry eVisa online before travel. Under a long-standing reciprocal arrangement between Taiwan and Türkiye, the eVisa is issued free of charge to Turkish ordinary passport holders. The eVisa permits a maximum stay of 30 days, which cannot be extended or converted to another visa type, and the authorization is valid for three months from the date of issue (you must enter within that window). Applications are filed at the official BOCA eVisa portal (visawebapp.boca.gov.tw), with processing typically taking around 3 to 10 business days; the office in Ankara advises applying at least 10 business days before departure. Note that Taiwan's previous visa-on-arrival option for Turkish citizens was cancelled in January 2026, so the eVisa is now the standard pathway for short tourist visits.
