Türkiye to Tajikistan visa requirements

Turkish ordinary passport holders need a visa for Tajikistan, but they can apply online for an e-visa (evisa.tj). Visa-free travel ended on 20 April 2024 and has not been restored as of mid-2026. Until April 2024, holders of Turkey's ordinary (general civil) passport could enter Tajikistan visa-free. On 20 April 2024, Tajikistan introduced a visa regime for Turkish ordinary passport holders, reciprocating Turkiye's earlier cancellation of visa-free access for Tajik nationals. As of 1 June 2026 that visa requirement is still in force; bilateral consular talks held in 2025 to restore the visa waiver have not produced an agreement. Turkish travelers can no longer enter visa-free, but they qualify for Tajikistan's electronic visa, which is open to citizens of more than 160 countries and is the standard channel for short tourist stays. The e-visa is applied for entirely online through the official portal (evisa.tj), with no embassy visit required in most cases. A single-entry tourist e-visa costs USD 30 and a multiple-entry one USD 50; the e-visa permits a maximum stay of 60 days within a 90-day window and is normally issued within 1-3 business days. Travelers heading to the Pamir Mountains, the Pamir Highway, or the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) must add the separate GBAO permit (USD 20), which can be requested in the same application. Passports must be valid for at least six months. Tajikistan is not in the Schengen area, so Schengen 90/180 and ETIAS rules do not apply.
