Do Türkiye passport holders need a visa to visit Thailand?
Turkish ordinary passport holders can enter Thailand visa-free for tourism for up to 60 days under the visa-exemption (P.P.30) scheme — still in force as of 30 May 2026. A reduction to 30 days has been approved but is not yet effective. Türkiye (TR) is on Thailand's visa-exemption list, so an ordinary-passport holder may enter for tourism without a visa and stay up to 60 days per entry. This is the standard 60-day exemption that has applied to 93 countries/territories since mid-2024. On 19 May 2026 the Thai Cabinet approved a reform that moves Turkey to a 30-day exemption tier, but the new rule only takes effect 15 days after publication in the Royal Gazette, which had not happened as of 30 May 2026 — so 60 days remains the current entitlement. No visa or eVisa is needed for a short tourist stay. Travelers must complete the mandatory Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online before arrival, hold a passport valid at least 6 months with blank pages, carry proof of onward/return travel, and be prepared to show proof of funds of 20,000 THB per person (40,000 THB per family). The visa-free stay can be extended once by 30 days at a local immigration office for 1,900 THB. Travelers planning to stay longer than the exemption or for non-tourism purposes should apply for a Thai tourist eVisa in advance.
