Türkiye to Niger visa requirements
Turkish ordinary passport holders need a visa to enter Niger for tourism. Niger is not visa-free for Turkey (only Turkish diplomatic passports are exempt). The most practical route is the Niger eVisa, applied for online before travel; an embassy/consular visa is the traditional alternative. A Turkey (TR) ordinary passport holder cannot enter Niger (NE) without a visa for a short tourist visit. Niger's published visa policy exempts only Turkish diplomatic passport holders, so ordinary-passport tourists are visa-required. Since 2019 Niger has operated an electronic visa (eVisa) system open to citizens of 200+ countries, including Turkey, administered by the Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DST) under the Ministry of Interior. The eVisa is typically issued as a single entry, allowing a stay of up to 30 days, and is the most convenient legitimate channel for Turkish tourists. A traditional visa obtained in advance from a Nigerien diplomatic mission remains valid and is the more reliable fallback where the eVisa platform is unavailable or where no application is approved in time. A limited pre-approved visa-on-arrival ("flyer visa") exists but requires prior clearance from the National Police and is not a guaranteed walk-up option. Niger is in West Africa and is NOT part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory for all travelers over 9 months old. Because online processing can be slow or unreliable, travelers should apply well ahead of departure and keep an embassy visa as a backup. Given conflicting sources on eVisa availability, this guide treats the route conservatively as visa-required, with the eVisa as the recommended primary channel.
