Do Türkiye passport holders need a visa to visit Mexico?
Turkish ordinary passport holders need authorization to enter Mexico, but most can use the free SAE electronic authorization (eVisa) when flying in. Holders of a valid US, Canada, Japan, UK or Schengen visa/residence are exempt and need nothing extra. A Türkiye ordinary (red) passport holder is not visa-free for Mexico, but in practice has an easy path. Mexico operates the SAE (Sistema de Autorización Electrónica), a free online travel authorization available to Turkish ordinary passport holders who arrive BY AIR on a participating airline. You apply on the official INM portal, answer security questions, and receive a PDF authorization. The SAE is free, valid for 30 days from issue and good for a single entry; on arrival immigration grants a tourist stay of up to 180 days. Important exemption: if you hold a valid visa OR permanent residence for the United States, Canada, Japan, the United Kingdom or any Schengen country, you do NOT need the SAE or any Mexican visa — you may board and enter directly. The SAE does NOT cover land or sea entries; for those (or for special/service passports) you must obtain a stamped consular visitor visa (about USD 54) at a Mexican consulate. Always carry proof of accommodation, return ticket and funds, as final admission is decided by the immigration officer at the port of entry.
