Turkish ordinary passport holders can enter Montenegro visa-free for tourism for up to 30 days. No visa or eVisa is required for short visits. As of December 23, 2025, Montenegro restored its visa-free regime for Turkish citizens holding ordinary passports, but reduced the maximum permitted stay from 90 to 30 days. Turkish travelers can therefore enter Montenegro for tourism without any visa or pre-authorization and remain for up to 30 days. The 30-day cap was introduced to curb irregular migration and align with EU visa policy; holders of diplomatic, special and service passports retain the longer 90-day allowance. Montenegro is an EU candidate that uses the euro but is NOT part of the Schengen Area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply to entry into Montenegro. Travelers should carry a passport valid for the duration of their stay, proof of accommodation, return/onward tickets and sufficient funds, as enhanced border and migration checks are now in place.
