🇹🇷Türkiye🇱🇰Sri LankaTR-LK Türkiye to Sri Lanka visa requirements
Turkish ordinary passport holders need an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) to visit Sri Lanka for tourism, but as of 25 May 2026 the tourist ETA is FREE for Turkey (one of 40 eligible countries). You must still apply and get approval online before you fly. A Turkey (TR) ordinary passport holder traveling to Sri Lanka (LK) for tourism cannot enter visa-free in the strict sense: an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) approved before arrival is mandatory. However, since 25 May 2026 Sri Lanka has made the 30-day tourist ETA free of charge for nationals of 40 countries, and Turkey is on that list (all passport categories, including ordinary). The free tourist ETA grants a 30-day stay with double-entry permission. Apply on the official portal eta.gov.lk before departure; approval is normally near-instant to about 72 hours. The waiver covers the ETA processing fee only — extensions beyond 30 days, overstays, and other visa categories still carry fees. Travelers should ensure a passport valid at least six months, an onward/return ticket, and proof of sufficient funds. Do not use unofficial agent sites, which add service charges on top of what is now a no-cost government ETA.
