Türkiye to Croatia visa requirements

Turkish ordinary passport holders need a Schengen short-stay (Type C) visa before traveling to Croatia. Croatia has been a full Schengen member since 1 January 2023, and Turkey remains a visa-required country for the EU. Turkish nationals are NOT eligible for ETIAS; ETIAS applies only to visa-exempt nationalities, so the traditional Schengen visa requirement stays in place. A Turkey (TR) ordinary passport holder visiting Croatia (HR) for tourism or a short stay must obtain a Schengen Uniform (Type C) visa in advance. Croatia joined the Schengen Area on 1 January 2023, so a standard multi-country Schengen visa covers Croatia. Turkey is the highest-ranked EU candidate country whose ordinary-passport citizens still require a visa for the EU, and the EU's Delegation to Türkiye has confirmed Turkish nationals do NOT fall within ETIAS (which is only for visa-exempt travelers) and will continue to need a Schengen visa. Applications are filed in person at the Croatian Embassy/Consulate or an authorized VFS Global visa application center in Turkey, with biometrics and supporting documents. The standard adult fee is EUR 80, and processing typically takes about 15 calendar days (up to 45 days in busy periods). The short-stay rule allows a maximum of 90 days in any rolling 180-day period across the whole Schengen Area. Since 15 July 2025, Turkish applicants benefit from the EU "cascade" rule, which can grant longer-validity multi-entry visas to applicants with a good travel history. Holders of Turkish diplomatic, service, and special passports are exempt and travel visa-free, but this guide covers ordinary passports only.
