🇹🇷TÜRKIYE🇬🇧UNITED KINGDOMTR-GB Do Türkiye passport holders need a visa to visit United Kingdom?
Yes — Turkish ordinary passport holders need a visa. Turkey is on the UK visa national list, so you must obtain a Standard Visitor visa before travelling. Turkish nationals are NOT eligible for the UK ETA. Türkiye (Turkey) is classed as a "visa national" country by the UK Home Office. This means a Turkish ordinary passport holder cannot enter the UK visa-free and is NOT eligible for the Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) scheme (which only covers visa-exempt nationalities). To visit the UK for tourism, visiting family/friends or short business, you must apply online for a Standard Visitor visa, pay the fee, and attend a visa application centre to give biometrics (fingerprints and photo) before you travel. The standard 6-month visit visa costs £135 and is normally decided within about 3 weeks. Longer-validity multi-entry visitor visas (2, 5 and 10 years) are also available for frequent travellers, each still limiting individual stays to 6 months. The visa-free abolition of the previous Turkish Businessperson/ECAA route and the introduction of the ETA do not change this: Turkish tourists still require a full visitor visa.
