Do Türkiye passport holders need a visa to visit Finland?
Türkiye ordinary passport holders need a Schengen short-stay (Type C) visa to visit Finland for tourism. Turkish nationals are NOT eligible for ETIAS and must apply for a visa before travel. Finland is a full member of the Schengen Area, and Türkiye is not on the EU's visa-exempt list. As a result, holders of an ordinary Turkish passport must obtain a Schengen short-stay (Type C) visa before traveling to Finland for tourism. The visa permits stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period across the entire Schengen Area. Applications are submitted in person through VFS Global centres in Türkiye (Ankara, Istanbul, Izmir, Antalya) on behalf of the Embassy of Finland, including the collection of biometric data (fingerprints and photo). The standard adult visa fee is EUR 90, plus a VFS service fee. Because Türkiye is a visa-required country, Turkish travellers do NOT fall within the scope of ETIAS — the EU has confirmed they continue to need a full Schengen visa, with no change to the existing process. Travellers must show valid travel medical insurance covering at least EUR 30,000, proof of accommodation and funds, a return itinerary, and a passport valid at least 3 months beyond the intended departure with two blank pages.
