Do Türkiye passport holders need a visa to visit Canada?
Turkish ordinary passport holders need a visitor visa (Temporary Resident Visa, TRV) to enter Canada for tourism. Türkiye is NOT eligible for the eTA, so there is no fast online alternative — you must apply through IRCC, give biometrics, and wait for approval before you travel. Canada does not grant visa-free entry or eTA access to Turkish (TR) ordinary passport holders. Türkiye is not on Canada's list of eTA-eligible countries, which means a full Temporary Resident Visa (visitor visa) is mandatory for short tourist stays. The application is filed online with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), costs CAD 100 plus a CAD 85 biometrics fee, and requires attending a VFS Global visa application centre (in Ankara or Istanbul) to submit fingerprints and a photo. A multiple-entry visa is typically issued and can be valid up to 10 years (or until the passport expires), but each visit is normally limited to 6 months as decided by the border officer on arrival. Processing time varies widely; budget several weeks to a few months and apply well ahead of travel.

For guidance only — visa rules change with little notice. Always confirm directly with the destination's embassy or foreign ministry before booking non-refundable travel. Information here applies to ordinary (non-diplomatic) passports unless noted.
