Canada classifies Türkiye as visa-required for ordinary passport holders. Turkish visitors and transit passengers need a Temporary Resident Visa (visitor visa / TRV) before travelling to Canada by air, land or sea; Türkiye is not on the eTA-required country list and is not on Canada's conditional eTA list for some visa-required countries. The application is filed online with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), costs CAD 100 plus a CAD 85 biometrics fee, and usually requires biometrics at a Visa Application Centre after the biometric instruction letter. A visa officer decides whether to issue a single- or multiple-entry visa and how long it is valid; generally a visitor visa may be valid up to 10 years or until passport or biometrics expiry, whichever comes first. Most visitors may stay up to 6 months per entry unless the border services officer sets a different date. IRCC's current visitor visa processing data for Türkiye is 53 days, updated June 17, 2026.
