Do Türkiye passport holders need a visa to visit BE?

Türkiye ordinary passport holders need a Schengen short-stay (Type C) visa before traveling to Belgium for tourism. Apply through VFS Global in Türkiye; the visa allows up to 90 days within any 180-day period. Belgium is a member of the Schengen Area, and Türkiye is not on the EU's visa-exempt list. Therefore, holders of an ordinary Turkish passport must obtain a Schengen short-stay (Type C) visa before traveling to Belgium for tourism or a short visit. Applications are lodged in Türkiye through VFS Global Visa Application Centres on behalf of the Consulate General of Belgium in Istanbul, which makes the final decision. As of 1 May 2026 the standard short-stay visa fee rose from €80 to €90, plus a VFS service charge of around €24 (about 985 TL) payable locally. A valid Schengen visa permits stays of up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period across the entire Schengen Area. ETIAS does not apply to nationals who require a visa; Türkiye remains a visa-required nationality and is not affected by ETIAS. Travelers should also note the EU adopted more favourable visa-facilitation rules for Turkish citizens in July 2025, which can ease multiple-entry visa issuance for frequent travelers.
