Türkiye to Armenia visa requirements
Turkish ordinary passport holders can enter Armenia with a visa on arrival, obtainable at Zvartnots (Yerevan) and other open border crossings. An eVisa via evisa.mfa.am is the recommended advance alternative. The Turkey-Armenia land border is closed, so entry is by air or via Georgia/Iran. As of mid-2026, citizens of Turkey holding ordinary passports do NOT enjoy visa-free access to Armenia. They are, however, eligible for a visa on arrival (VOA) issued at Armenian ports of entry, principally Zvartnots International Airport in Yerevan, as well as the Georgia-Armenia land crossings (Bagratashen, Bavra, Gogavan) and the Iran-Armenia crossing. The direct Turkey-Armenia land border remains closed, so travelers arrive via air or through a third country. The same tourist visa is also available in advance as an eVisa through the official MFA portal (evisa.mfa.am), which is the recommended, lower-risk option. Armenia uses a single fee schedule for both VOA and eVisa: AMD 3,000 for a 21-day single-entry visa and AMD 15,000 for a 120-day single-entry visa, with multiple-entry options (AMD 20,000 for 6 months, AMD 40,000 for 1 year) also offered. Standard eVisa processing is about 3 business days. Armenia is NOT in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. A separate 2026 bilateral measure waives eVisa fees for Turkish DIPLOMATIC, SERVICE and SPECIAL passport holders only; it does not extend to ordinary tourist passports, who still pay the standard fee. Passports should be valid for at least the duration of stay (6 months recommended). Because sources differ on whether ordinary Turkish passports can use the online eVisa system directly, the conservative, universally confirmed channel for a short tourist stay is the visa on arrival.
