Thailand to Yemen visa requirements

Thai ordinary passport holders need a visa to enter Yemen. Thailand is not on Yemen's visa-free or visa-on-arrival lists, so the visa must be arranged in advance. Yemen launched an e-visa system in June 2025, but tourist visas are currently issued only to organized groups through Yemeni-accredited travel agencies. Yemen is under a Level 4 "Do not travel" advisory, and tourism is effectively suspended. A Thailand (TH) ordinary passport holder traveling to Yemen (YE) for tourism requires a visa obtained before travel. Yemen does not grant visa-free entry or visa-on-arrival to Thai citizens. Visa-free access is limited to Hong Kong SAR passport holders, and visa-on-arrival is restricted to 11 mostly Arab/regional countries (Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, UAE). Thailand appears on neither list, so the conservative and correct verdict is visa-required. Yemen introduced an electronic visa system on 24 June 2025 administered by the Immigration, Passports and Nationality Authority (IPNA) in Aden, but at present independent tourist visas are not being issued. Tourist applications are accepted only for organized groups of at least ten members, traveling through a travel agency accredited by Yemen's General Authority for Tourism, with confirmed round-trip tickets. Individual leisure travel is effectively unavailable. The passport must be valid at least six months beyond entry with a blank page. Both the US State Department (Level 4 - Do not travel, reissued 19 December 2025) and equivalent advisories warn against all travel to Yemen, including Socotra, citing armed conflict, terrorism, kidnapping and landmines, and warn of fraudulent Socotra "visas" sold by unauthorized operators. Real travelers should treat tourism to Yemen as not feasible at this time and consult a Yemeni diplomatic mission directly before any travel plan.
