🇹🇭Thailand🇹🇿TanzaniaTH-TZ Thailand to Tanzania visa requirements
Thai ordinary passport holders need an eVisa for Tanzania. Apply online at the official portal (visa.immigration.go.tz) before travel. The Ordinary (tourist) single-entry visa costs USD 50, allows up to 90 days, and visa-on-arrival was abolished on 30 January 2025. A Thailand ordinary passport holder traveling to Tanzania for tourism must obtain an electronic visa (eVisa) before departure. Tanzania is in East Africa and is not part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. The required category for tourism is the Ordinary Visa, which is single entry, costs USD 50, and permits a stay of up to 90 days. The eVisa is applied for online through Tanzania's official Immigration Department portal at visa.immigration.go.tz. As of 30 January 2025 Tanzania phased out the visa-on-arrival facility for nationalities that previously qualified, and authorities now expect all such travelers to hold an approved eVisa before boarding. Processing can take up to 10 business days, so applying at least two weeks before departure is strongly recommended. Applicants must upload a passport bio-data page, a recent passport-style photo, a return/onward flight itinerary, and proof of accommodation for the first night. Passports must be valid for at least six months beyond the intended date of entry. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required if arriving from or transiting (over 12 hours) a yellow-fever-endemic country. US citizens are an exception and must take the USD 100 multiple-entry visa, but this does not affect Thai nationals, who use the USD 50 Ordinary single-entry visa.
