Do Thailand passport holders need a visa to visit Türkiye?

Thai ordinary passport holders can visit Türkiye visa-free for tourism — up to 30 days per visit, capped at 90 days within any 180-day period. No e-visa or visa-on-arrival is required. Holders of an ordinary Thailand passport do not need a visa for short tourist trips to Türkiye. Under the bilateral visa exemption, each visit may last up to 30 days, with a cumulative limit of 90 days within any rolling 180-day period from the date of first entry. Türkiye is NOT part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply here — Türkiye operates its own immigration regime. Importantly, the Turkish e-Visa system is NOT available to Thai nationals, but they also do not need it for short tourist stays. The exemption covers tourism only; stays beyond 30 days, or travel for work, study, or long-term residence, require a visa obtained in advance from a Turkish mission. Travelers must hold a passport valid for at least 60 days beyond the intended period of stay (per Türkiye's Law on Foreigners and International Protection) and should carry proof of onward travel, accommodation, and sufficient funds. This verdict was verified on 2026-05-30 against the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Turkish Embassy in Bangkok; no recent policy change alters the visa-free status.
