Thailand to Rwanda visa requirements

Thai (ordinary) passport holders need a visa for Rwanda. The recommended route is the online eVisa via the official Irembo portal (single-entry tourist visa, USD 50, 30 days). Visa on arrival is also available at Kigali International Airport without prior application. Thailand is not part of the African Union, Commonwealth, or La Francophonie, so the fee is not waived. Rwanda allows nationals of all countries to enter without an advance visa, but Thailand is not among the fee-exempt groups (African Union, Commonwealth, La Francophonie members get 30 days free; a separate list of countries gets 90 days free). A Thai ordinary passport holder therefore requires a paid visitor visa. The standard and recommended channel is the online eVisa applied for through the official Government of Rwanda portal, Irembo (irembo.gov.rw): the V1/T1 tourist visa costs USD 50 for single entry, permits a 30-day stay, and is normally approved within 1-3 working days. The same visa can alternatively be obtained on arrival at Kigali International Airport (and land borders) by paying USD 50, since no prior application is required for any nationality. A multiple-entry option (USD 70, valid 90 days) also exists. Rwanda is in East Africa, not the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. Travelers should also be aware of the East Africa Tourist Visa (USD 100, multiple entry, covering Rwanda, Kenya and Uganda) if combining countries. A passport valid for at least six months and a yellow fever vaccination certificate (if arriving from or transiting an endemic country) are typically required.
