Thailand to Nigeria visa requirements

Thai (ordinary) passport holders need a visa for Nigeria and must obtain it online as an e-Visa before travel. Since 1 May 2025 Nigeria has phased out visa-on-arrival, so the single-entry Tourist e-Visa (F5A), applied for at the official Nigeria Immigration Service portal, is the standard route. It allows a 30-day stay, is valid 90 days from issue, and decisions are typically returned within about 48 hours. A Thailand ordinary passport holder cannot enter Nigeria visa-free. Nigeria is not visa-exempt for Thai nationals, and on 1 May 2025 the Federal Ministry of Interior and the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) launched a fully online e-Visa system under the New Visa Policy 2025, formally discontinuing the old visa-on-arrival programme. Thai travellers are eligible to apply for the Nigeria e-Visa and should use the Tourism Visa (F5A) for a short tourist visit. The e-Visa is applied for entirely online at the official portal (evisa.immigration.gov.ng): the applicant completes the form, uploads a passport datapage (6+ months validity with blank pages), a passport photo, return flight ticket, hotel reservation or host details, and proof of sufficient funds, then pays the fee. The Tourism Visa is single-entry, valid 90 days from issuance, and permits a maximum stay of 30 days (non-extendable). Decisions are usually issued within 24-48 hours, though peak periods can take up to about 5 business days. Total cost for Thai applicants is roughly USD 180-185, the bulk of which is a fixed technology/landing-card (eVAC) component plus a small nationality-based visa fee. The approved e-Visa is delivered by email and must be presented on arrival together with the completed digital Landing Card. Nigeria is in West Africa and is not part of the Schengen area, so Schengen 90/180 and ETIAS rules do not apply. Travellers should also carry proof of yellow fever vaccination, which Nigeria requires for entry.
