Thailand to Mauritania visa requirements

Thai ordinary passport holders need an eVisa to visit Mauritania. Since 5 January 2025, all visa-required nationals (which includes Thailand) must apply online through the official ANRPTS portal before boarding, then pay the fee in cash on arrival. Visa-on-arrival without a prior online application is no longer available. Mauritania is not visa-free for Thai (Thailand) ordinary passport holders. On 5 January 2025 Mauritania launched a mandatory electronic visa (eVisa) system run by the National Agency for the Population Register and Secure Titles (ANRPTS). Visa-required travelers must complete the eVisa application online and receive an approval/QR confirmation before boarding their flight; airlines check this at the gate. The traditional walk-up visa-on-arrival is no longer offered, although the actual fee is still collected on arrival in cash. Thailand does not appear on Mauritania's short visa-exempt list (currently a handful of African/Maghreb states plus certain diplomatic/service passport holders), so an ordinary Thai passport requires the eVisa. The standard tourist eVisa is single entry, permits a stay of up to 30 days, and costs EUR 55 / USD 60 payable in exact cash on arrival. Mauritania is not in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. Travelers should carry a passport valid at least 6 months beyond the stay, proof of onward/return travel, and a printed eVisa confirmation with QR code.
