Thailand to North Macedonia visa requirements

Thailand ordinary passport holders need a visa to visit North Macedonia for tourism. There is no visa-free entry, no visa on arrival, and no eVisa for Thai citizens. You must apply for a Type C short-stay (Schengen-style) sticker visa in advance at a Macedonian diplomatic mission. North Macedonia is NOT in the Schengen area, but it applies a similar 90-days-in-180 short-stay limit. As of mid-2026, North Macedonia requires Thai ordinary passport holders to obtain a visa before arrival. Thailand is not on North Macedonia's visa-exempt list, and the country does not offer an eVisa or visa on arrival to Thai nationals. The relevant document is the Type C short-stay visa, which permits a stay of up to 90 days within any 180-day period and is issued as a sticker in the passport. Applications are made in person at a Macedonian embassy or consulate (North Macedonia has no resident embassy in Bangkok, so Thai travelers typically apply through the nearest accredited mission or an authorized visa center). The standard adult fee is 60 EUR. North Macedonia is an EU candidate but is NOT a member of the Schengen area, so an ETIAS authorization is not required and the Schengen 90/180 counter is separate; however, North Macedonia applies its own 90/180 short-stay rule. A practical alternative exists: holders of a valid multiple-entry Schengen Type C visa, or a valid US/UK/Canada visa, may enter North Macedonia without a separate Macedonian visa for short stays (up to 15 days under the current temporary measure) provided the foreign visa is valid for at least 5 days beyond the intended stay. Thai travelers who already hold such a visa can use that channel; otherwise a Macedonian visa is required.
