Thailand to Croatia visa requirements

Thai ordinary passport holders need a Schengen Type C short-stay visa before traveling to Croatia. There is no visa-free, visa-on-arrival, or eVisa option, and ETIAS does not apply because Thai nationals are not visa-exempt. Croatia has been a full member of the Schengen Area since 1 January 2023, so it issues and honors the uniform Schengen short-stay (Type C) visa rather than a national tourist visa. Thailand ordinary passport holders are NOT on the EU visa-exemption list, so they must obtain a Schengen visa before departure. The official Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs visa-requirements tool confirms "Ordinary passport: Yes" (visa required) for citizens of Thailand. The visa allows stays of up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period across the entire 29-country Schengen Area combined (not 90 days per country). Applications in Thailand are lodged through the VFS Global Croatia Visa Application Centre in Bangkok, as Croatia has no resident embassy in Thailand (the Embassy in Jakarta has consular oversight). The standard short-stay visa fee is EUR 90 for adults (EUR 45 for children aged 6-11), plus a VFS service fee, and applicants must carry travel medical insurance with minimum EUR 30,000 coverage. ETIAS, the upcoming electronic travel authorisation, applies only to visa-EXEMPT nationalities; Thai citizens are visa-required and therefore use the full Schengen visa process, not ETIAS. Conservative verdict: visa-required, verified against the official Croatian MFA source.
