Do Thailand passport holders need a visa to visit Hong Kong?

No visa needed. Thai ordinary passport holders can visit Hong Kong visa-free for up to 30 days for tourism. Holders of an ordinary Thailand passport do not need a visa to visit Hong Kong for tourism or other short visits. Under Hong Kong's long-standing visa-free arrangement, Thai nationals may enter and stay for up to 30 days without any prior visa application, registration, or fee. You simply arrive with a valid passport, a return or onward ticket, and proof of sufficient funds, and an immigration officer grants the permitted stay on arrival. Visitors must not work (paid or unpaid), run a business, or study while in Hong Kong on a visitor entry. The Hong Kong Immigration Department lists Thailand among nationalities eligible for visa-free visits not exceeding 30 days, and this arrangement remains current as of May 2026.
