Thailand to Ethiopia visa requirements

Thai passport holders need a visa for Ethiopia, but it is easy to obtain online: apply for the Ethiopia Tourist eVisa before you travel. A visa on arrival is also available at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, but the eVisa is the recommended route. Ethiopia is not visa-free for Thailand (TH) ordinary passport holders, but it operates a fully online electronic visa (eVisa) system open to all nationalities, including Thai citizens. The official portal is evisa.gov.et, run by the Ethiopian Immigration & Citizenship Service. The most commonly issued product is a single-entry, 30-day tourist eVisa costing USD 62 (reduced from USD 82 in August 2024). A 90-day single-entry option (around USD 202) has also historically been listed. Applications are processed in about 3 business days. The eVisa is valid only for arrival via Addis Ababa Bole International Airport. A visa on arrival is available at the same airport for the same fee, but applying online in advance is recommended to avoid airport queues and possible refusal. Passports must be valid at least 6 months beyond arrival. Beware of numerous look-alike fraud websites; only evisa.gov.et is official.
