Thailand to Estonia visa requirements
Thai ordinary passport holders need a Schengen Category C short-stay visa to visit Estonia for tourism. Thailand is NOT visa-exempt for the Schengen area, so ETIAS does not apply. Apply before you travel; in Thailand, Estonia is represented by the Finland Visa Application Centre (VFS Global). Estonia is a member of the Schengen area, and Thailand holds visa-required status for the Schengen zone. As a result, holders of an ordinary Thai passport must obtain a Schengen short-stay (Type C) visa before traveling to Estonia for tourism or a short visit. The visa permits a stay of up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period across the entire Schengen area. Because Thai nationals are visa-required (not visa-exempt), the new ETIAS travel authorization expected in late 2026 does NOT apply to them; ETIAS is only for nationalities that can already enter Schengen without a visa. In Thailand, Estonia does not maintain a visa-issuing mission, so applications are handled by Finland, which represents Estonia. Applicants submit through the Finland Visa Application Centre operated by VFS Global in Bangkok (and Chiang Mai). The standard adult visa fee is EUR 90, plus a VFS service charge and mandatory travel medical insurance with at least EUR 30,000 coverage. Decisions are normally issued within about 15 calendar days but can take longer, so applying 3-6 weeks ahead is advisable. Required evidence includes a passport valid at least 3 months beyond departure, round-trip flights, accommodation, proof of sufficient funds (at least about EUR 70 per day for Estonia) and ties to Thailand.
