Thailand to Côte d'Ivoire visa requirements

Thai ordinary passport holders need a visa for Côte d'Ivoire. The standard route is the official e-Visa: apply and pay online via SNEDAI before travel, then collect the biometric visa on arrival at Abidjan Port-Bouët Airport. Côte d'Ivoire is not in the Schengen area; it is a West African country and a member of ECOWAS. Thailand is not on Côte d'Ivoire's visa-exempt list (which is limited to ECOWAS states and a small set of countries such as Morocco, Tunisia, the Philippines, Singapore, Rwanda and Seychelles). Therefore a Thai ordinary passport holder must obtain a visa. The recommended and most accessible channel is the official online e-Visa operated through the SNEDAI platform. It is a two-step process: the traveller completes an online pre-enrollment, uploads supporting documents (passport, photo, hotel booking, return ticket, proof of funds), and pays a fee of EUR 73; once the pre-enrollment is approved (typically within about 48-72 hours) the traveller receives an approval document. The biometric visa itself is not pasted into the passport in advance — instead the traveller arrives at Félix-Houphouët-Boigny International Airport (Abidjan Port-Bouët) with the printed approval, completes biometric capture (fingerprints and photo) at the dedicated e-Visa desk, and the visa is printed and inserted into the passport on the spot. The e-Visa is valid for a stay of up to 90 days and is only valid for entry through Abidjan airport, not at land borders or other points of entry. A passport valid for at least 6 months is required, and a yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory for entry. Travellers entering by land or wishing to enter elsewhere must instead apply for a traditional visa through an Ivorian embassy/consulate. There were no major 2024-2026 changes removing the visa requirement for Thai nationals; the e-Visa system remains the standard route.
