Do Thailand passport holders need a visa to visit UAE?
Thai ordinary passport holders need a visa before traveling to the UAE. There is no visa-free entry or visa on arrival for tourism. Apply for an eVisa (tourist visa) in advance online via the official ICP/GDRFA channels or through an airline (e.g. Emirates) before departure. Thailand ordinary passport holders are NOT eligible for visa-free entry or visa on arrival in the United Arab Emirates. Only Thai diplomatic and official/service passport holders receive 30-day visa-free access; ordinary tourists must obtain a visa in advance. The standard route is an electronic tourist visa (eVisa), applied for online before travel through the official UAE federal channels (ICP smart services, GDRFA Dubai, or the DubaiNow app) or arranged through your airline such as Emirates or Etihad. The most common option for tourism is the 30-day single-entry tourist visa; a 60-day option and multiple-entry versions are also available. Applications are typically processed within 2 to 5 working days, with express options available. You must hold a passport valid for at least six months, a confirmed return ticket, hotel/accommodation proof, and evidence of sufficient funds. The visa is normally valid for entry within 60 days of issue. The UAE is not part of the Schengen area, so Schengen and ETIAS rules do not apply.

For guidance only — visa rules change with little notice. Always confirm directly with the destination's embassy or foreign ministry before booking non-refundable travel. Information here applies to ordinary (non-diplomatic) passports unless noted.
