Singapore to Mozambique visa requirements

Singapore ordinary passport holders are exempt from a full Mozambique visa for short tourist stays, but since the 2026 rollout they must obtain a mandatory Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) online before departure. Apply via the official evisa.gov.mz portal at least 48 hours (ideally 3-5 days) ahead. Stay up to 30 days, extendable by another 30. Airlines now check for an approved ETA at check-in and can deny boarding without it. Singapore is one of roughly 29 nationalities that Mozambique unilaterally exempts from short-stay visa requirements for tourism and business. However, visa exemption no longer means simply turning up at the border. Following changes implemented through 2025 and stabilized with a new VFS Global-supported digital portal launched on 11 February 2026, all visa-exempt travelers, including Singaporeans, must obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) at evisa.gov.mz before travelling. The ETA is a pre-travel clearance, not a document issued on arrival, and airlines are now responsible for confirming an approved ETA before boarding. The permitted stay for Singapore citizens is 30 days, renewable for a further 30 days in-country on justification. A 650 MZN (about USD 10-11) administrative fee applies. The old Singapore MFA advisory that mentions a "visa on arrival" reflects the pre-2025 position and is being overtaken by the ETA regime; travelers should rely on the official evisa.gov.mz portal as the current authority. Passports must be valid at least six months with two blank pages, and proof of accommodation plus a return/onward ticket are required. Because the system is newly relaunched and rules have shifted at short notice, applying several days early and re-checking the official portal before departure is strongly advised.
