Singapore to Malawi visa requirements

Singapore ordinary passport holders can enter Malawi visa-free for tourism for up to 90 days. Singapore remains on Malawi's reciprocity-based exemption list even after the January 3, 2026 reform. As of June 2026, Singapore ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa to visit Malawi for tourism or short visits, and may stay up to 90 days. Malawi overhauled its visa regime on January 3, 2026, moving to a reciprocity-based system: most previously exempt Western nations (US, UK, France, Germany, Canada, Australia) now require an eVisa, but Singapore retains visa-free access because Singapore does not impose visa requirements on Malawian nationals. Singapore appears on the post-reform exemption list alongside Hong Kong, Malaysia, the Philippines and several Caribbean/Pacific states. Travelers still need a passport valid at least 6 months with blank pages, proof of onward/return travel, and proof of sufficient funds and accommodation. Malawi is in Southern Africa and is NOT part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. Visa on arrival was discontinued in 2020 and is not relevant to exempt nationals. Should an exemption ever be questioned at the border, a Malawi eVisa can be obtained online at evisa.gov.mw (single-entry tourist visa USD 75).
