Singapore to Greenland visa requirements

Singapore ordinary passport holders can visit Greenland visa-free for short tourist stays of up to 90 days. Greenland is a Danish territory but is NOT part of the EU or the Schengen Area, so a Schengen visa is not needed (and a Schengen visa is not valid for Greenland either). Singapore is a Schengen-visa-exempt nationality, which is the basis for visa-free entry to Greenland. Greenland is an autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark, but it lies OUTSIDE both the European Union and the Schengen Area. Its visa policy mirrors Schengen short-stay rules in one key way: nationals who are visa-exempt for short stays in the Schengen Area may enter Greenland without a visa for up to 90 days. Singapore ordinary passport holders are on the Schengen visa-exempt list, so they qualify for visa-free entry to Greenland for tourism. Importantly, a Schengen visa is NOT valid for Greenland; travelers who do require a visa must obtain a specific Greenland (Danish) visa from a Danish diplomatic mission or the Danish Immigration Service. Because Singapore is visa-exempt, this does not affect Singaporean tourists. There are no direct international flights to most of Greenland from Singapore; travel is typically routed via Copenhagen (Denmark) or Reykjavik (Iceland) and onward to Nuuk or Kangerlussuaq. Note on ETIAS: ETIAS is scheduled to launch in the last quarter of 2026 and is expected to apply to Danish territories including Greenland; once live, visa-exempt travelers (including Singaporeans) will need an approved ETIAS authorization before boarding. As of the verification date it is NOT yet in force, so no electronic pre-authorization is currently required. Passports should be valid for at least three months beyond the intended departure and issued within the past 10 years; a biometric e-passport is recommended/required for certain nationalities. Singapore passports are biometric e-passports.
