Saudi Arabia to Tanzania visa requirements

Saudi Arabia ordinary passport holders need a visa for Tanzania. The simplest route is the online eVisa (Ordinary single-entry tourist visa, USD 50), which should be obtained before travel; visa-on-arrival is also available at major ports as a fallback. Saudi Arabia is not on Tanzania's visa-exemption list, so an ordinary Saudi passport holder must hold a visa to enter for tourism. Since the eVisa system launched (26 November 2018), the recommended channel is the online Ordinary Visa, a single-entry tourist visa costing USD 50, which permits a stay of up to 90 days and is valid for use within a defined window after issuance. Applicants submit a passport bio-data page scan, a passport photo, travel itinerary/return ticket and accommodation details through the official portal at visa.immigration.go.tz, pay USD 50 by card, and are typically notified by email within about 10 business days (apply at least two to three weeks ahead). The passport must be valid for at least six months with a blank page. Visa-on-arrival (USD 50, paid in USD cash) remains available to Saudi nationals at Julius Nyerere International Airport (Dar es Salaam), Kilimanjaro International Airport and other designated ports, but the eVisa is preferred because it avoids airport queues and the risk of refused boarding. Note that travelers to the Zanzibar archipelago additionally need mandatory travel insurance purchased through the Zanzibar portal. No mutual visa-waiver agreement exists between Saudi Arabia and Tanzania as of 2026, so the visa requirement stands; default to obtaining the eVisa in advance.
