Saudi Arabia to Somalia visa requirements

Saudi Arabia ordinary passport holders need an eVisa (eTAS) before traveling to Somalia. Since 1 September 2025, an approved electronic Travel Authorization is mandatory for all foreign visitors, and Saudi citizens are not on Somalia's visa-free or visa-on-arrival lists. Somalia is not in the Schengen area, so no 90/180 or ETIAS rules apply. As of 30 May 2026, Somalia operates a mandatory electronic visa / Electronic Travel Authorization System (eTAS/eVisa), launched 28 August 2025 and compulsory from 1 September 2025 for all foreign visitors including infants and children. Only Rwanda and Malaysia have visa-free access (30 days), and 11 countries (mostly African and Arab states such as Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Mauritania, Djibouti, etc.) qualify for visa on arrival. Saudi Arabia appears on neither list, so a Saudi ordinary passport holder must obtain the eVisa online before departure via the official portal etas.gov.so / evisa.gov.so. The tourist eVisa is single-entry, valid 90 days from issue for entry, and permits a stay of up to 30 days. The fee is USD 65, and standard processing is roughly 3–7 working days. A notable requirement: non-Somali tourists must secure a sponsor code / letter of guarantee (Warqad Dammaanad) from a vetted, licensed Somali sponsor organization or tour operator, plus a passport valid at least 6 months with a blank page. Travelers should also be aware that several governments maintain strong advisories against travel to parts of Somalia for security reasons.
