🇸🇦Saudi Arabia🇸🇮SloveniaSA-SI Saudi Arabia to Slovenia visa requirements
Yes — a Saudi Arabia ordinary passport holder needs a visa to visit Slovenia. Slovenia is in the Schengen Area and Saudi Arabia is not on the EU visa-exempt (Annex II) list, so you must obtain a Schengen short-stay (Type C) visa before travel. Slovenia is a full member of the Schengen Area. Saudi Arabia is a visa-required nationality under EU Regulation 2018/1806 (Annex I), so Saudi ordinary passport holders cannot enter visa-free or via ETIAS. To travel for tourism or a short visit, you must apply in advance for a uniform Schengen short-stay visa (Type C), which permits stays of up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period across the whole Schengen Area. The application is lodged at the Slovenian diplomatic mission competent for Saudi Arabia, or at the embassy/visa centre of the Schengen state representing Slovenia (often via VFS/TLScontact in Riyadh, Jeddah or Al Khobar). The standard adult visa fee is EUR 90 (raised from EUR 80 in June 2024). Mandatory requirements include a passport valid at least 3 months beyond departure with two blank pages, travel medical insurance with minimum EUR 30,000 coverage valid throughout Schengen, proof of accommodation, return travel, and sufficient funds. Standard processing is about 15 calendar days but can extend to 30-45 days, so apply early (appointments often booked 4-6 weeks ahead). Note: ETIAS (expected late 2026) is a visa waiver only for visa-exempt nationalities and does NOT replace the Schengen visa requirement for Saudi citizens. There have been discussions about an EU short-stay visa waiver for Saudi Arabia, but as of 30 May 2026 no such exemption is in force.
