Saudi Arabia to Malawi visa requirements

Saudi Arabia ordinary passport holders need a visa for Malawi. The recommended route is the Malawi eVisa, applied for online at evisa.gov.mw before travel. A single-entry tourist visa costs USD 50, is valid 3 months from issue, and permits a stay of up to 30 days. Visa on arrival is also available for most nationalities at major entry points, but applying online in advance is strongly recommended to avoid delays. As of 30 May 2026, Saudi Arabia is not on Malawi's visa-exempt list. Malawi introduced a broad visa-waiver scheme in 2024 but revoked it with effect from 2 January 2026, so most nationalities — including Saudi Arabia — once again require a visa to enter. Saudi ordinary passport holders should obtain a Malawi eVisa online through the official portal (evisa.gov.mw) before departure. The system distinguishes Category One countries (visa required in advance) from Category Two countries (eligible for visa on arrival); in practice most travelers, including Saudis, can also still obtain a visa on arrival at major ports of entry, but the Department of Immigration prefers and recommends advance online application to reduce processing time at the border. Multiple-entry options are USD 150 (6 months) and USD 250 (12 months). Malawi is in Southern Africa and is not part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. Travelers should carry a passport valid for at least six months with blank pages, proof of onward/return travel, accommodation details and sufficient funds.
