🇸🇦Saudi Arabia🇲🇷MauritaniaSA-MR Saudi Arabia to Mauritania visa requirements
Saudi Arabian ordinary passport holders need an e-visa to visit Mauritania for tourism. Since 5 January 2025, Mauritania discontinued sticker/visa-on-arrival issuance and requires online pre-approval through the national ANRPTS portal before boarding; the visa fee (about EUR 55 / USD 60 for 30 days) is then paid in cash on arrival. As of the 2026-05-30 verification, a Saudi Arabia (SA) ordinary passport holder traveling to Mauritania (MR) for a short tourist visit must obtain a Mauritanian e-visa. Mauritania launched its electronic visa system on 5 January 2025, operated by the National Agency for the Population Register and Secure Titles (ANRPTS), and discontinued the old paper sticker visas. Travelers complete an online application, receive an approval document with a QR code, then pay the visa fee in cash (Euros or US dollars) on arrival, where biometric data is captured at the border. A standard 30-day tourist visa costs roughly EUR 55 / USD 60; 60-day and 90-day options and single/double/multiple-entry choices are also offered. Only citizens of a small group of (mainly West African) countries are visa-exempt, and Saudi Arabia is not among them, so the e-visa is required. Mauritania is in West Africa and is not part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. Travelers should apply at least one to two weeks ahead because processing can take around a week, and a yellow fever vaccination certificate is commonly requested. Conservatively, the verdict is e-visa: there is no confirmed visa-free channel for Saudi ordinary passport holders.
